Mike De Stefano
Mike is a co-founder and co-owner of DMS. Mike began his career over 30 years ago with a large public accounting firm and then transitioned to positions as accounting manager or controller in small, medium-size and large firms. His diverse experience solidified his enthusiasm for helping small businesses in the areas of accounting, finance and human resources. Through DMS, Mike achieved his goal of providing corporate-level experience and services at rates that a small business can readily afford.
Mike is passionate about providing practical, cost-effective solutions to business owners and takes immense personal pride in growing his clients’ success. Positively affecting the bottom-line for his customers provides challenges and personal satisfaction well beyond working for larger corporations. Mike has experience in retail, service, architectural, engineering, real estate and medical fields.
Mike is a 1980 cum laude graduate of Cleveland State University and is a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio. He is a diehard sports enthusiast and resides with his wife Susan in Highland Heights.
Maria is Director of Operations at DMS and has more than 20 years of experience in general accounting. She specializes in multiple accounting packages with a strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, as evidenced by her QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation.
Her extensive experience enables her to provide a seamless transition to QuickBooks based on the client’s specific industry. Maria is also able to work with clients to enhance utilization of an existing QuickBooks installation.
Her clients include a wide range of small businesses with a focus on legal services, retail sales operations, and manufacturing companies. Her knowledge of company operations allows her to collaborate with the client’s management team on forecasting, tax planning, and asset management.
Maria earned her degree from Miami University of Ohio. Maria donates her expertise to non-profit organizations by helping with their 501( c )(3) applications. She enjoys her free time with her family in Vermilion, OH.
Aimee’s personal dedication as a marathon runner and Ironman triathlete speaks well to her professional work ethic as a founding member of DMS and Senior Account Manager.
Her experience with all aspects of small business accounting ranges from data entry to financial statements. Aimee is proficient in a variety of software applications including QuickBooks, Foundation, Deltek FMS and Deltek Vision, and serves as our construction accounting specialist.
Her extensive client base includes day cares, general contractors, non-profit organizations, architectural, and engineering firms. Aimee supports small business payroll, human resources, and employee benefit solutions.
Aimee is a 1989 cum laude graduate of Ohio University. Along with cooking, she enjoys weight training, swimming, biking, and running. Aimee and her husband Eric reside in Avon.
Terri is a DMS Account Manager with over 15 years of experience in general accounting, project accounting, forensic accounting and bookkeeping. Terri spent six years in the Manufacturing field and twelve years in the Architectural & Engineering field.
Terri brings to DMS great enthusiasm for helping companies trouble shoot problem areas and find ways to run more efficiently. Terri truly enjoys getting to know her clients and is committed to their success. Always eager to help, she is very detail oriented and highly motivated. She has advanced financial analysis skills, setup / analysis of budgets, data evaluation and system management. Terri is proficient in a variety of software accounting programs as well as Microsoft Office programs.
Terri earned her Bachelor of Science of Business Administration degree from Myers University, and resides in Lakewood with her family.
Sueellen has a strong background in accounting for small to medium-sized businesses. She also has experience in IT technical support, project management, and document preparation and editing in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations.
Sueellen has 15 years of accounting experience in a variety of industries using QuickBooks software. She has created accounting records for new companies, and provided forensic and cleanup services for distressed company files. Sueellen takes pride in her detail-oriented personality to provide efficient accounting services. She can provide data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all payroll services, including filing monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll tax returns.
Sueellen also teaches QuickBooks software part time to adult students. She enjoys working with the owners and office personnel of small to medium-sized businesses to either create new or enhance current accounting practices to ensure accurate and proficient cash controls are in place.
Sueellen resides in Vermilion, OH with her husband and two children.
Brad has spent most of his career working behind the scenes in organizations to ensure they run smoothly and operate optimally. With both a Bachelor and Masters degree in Accounting from Bowling Green State University he initially worked in public accounting and for a Fortune 500 company. Choosing to focus on owner-managed companies, he transitioned to a family-owned manufacturing company in the Cleveland area as the Operations Manager. He reduced indirect costs of production by thirty percent permitting more resources to be invested in state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. The new equipment cut manufacturing times by sixty percent. In this role he also recognized the value people add to an organization.
Seeking to understand this human contribution and maximize the benefit for both the organization and the individual, he obtained another Masters degree, this one in Organization Development. Continuing his passion for owner-managed business, he acquired and ran his own visual communications business before joining the awesome team at DMS Management Solutions. He loves the client-focused atmosphere and the results they obtain for their clients at DMS. He occupies his spare time with three business partners in a start-up venture that designs and builds guitar amplifiers.
John is a DMS Account Manager, bringing 30 years of diverse experience to our clients. John has spent the last 15 years as part of a leadership team for small to medium-sized non-profit organizations. His skills include preparing financial statements, annual budget planning, grants and contract management, A/P, A/R, and balance sheet reconciliation. John is able to run all aspects of a small business, including payroll, employee benefits and pension plans. He began his career at one of the Big 8 Accounting firms, and has experience with auditing and tax preparation.
John finds personal satisfaction in helping small businesses tighten accounting processes, and is a patient and detailed coach and teacher. He is an excellent communicator and people focused.
John graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!) and lives in Lorain with his wife and teenage son.
Laura is a DMS Accounting Manager with over 30 years of experience in general accounting. Her expertise includes financial statement preparation, budgeting, cash forecasts, account reconciliation and analysis, payroll processing, intercompany reconciliation, sales tax, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Laura has worked in a wide range of industries which include Automotive Manufacturing, Environmental, Wind Power, Software/EDI Development and Plastics Manufacturing. She has worked for companies in both the Cleveland area and the East Bay area of California.
Laura earned her accounting degree from Cleveland State University and lives in Garfield Heights with her husband Vince and children, Andrew and Alyssa.
Sue is a DMS Staff Accountant with over 15 years of experience in the public accounting arena. During her work experience, she specialized in the veterinary industry, spending a lot of her time in the tax preparation department. Sue also traveled extensively to clients to assist with setting up and training the accounting and billing departments. Sue moved on to work with local small to medium-sized businesses creating financial statements on a monthly basis, completing monthly and quarterly tax filing requirements, and providing bookkeeping services.
Sue brings to DMS a solid background in tax and accounting, in addition to bookkeeping knowledge. She greatly enjoys assisting clients and feels their success and her success are intertwined.
Sue is proficient in a variety of software accounting programs as well as Microsoft Office programs. Sue earned her Associates degree from Cuyahoga Community College, and resides in Cleveland with her husband, dog and two cats.
David Hill is an Accounting Manager at DMS Management Solutions. He has over 25 years of experience which includes public accounting as an auditor and a controller at a mega car dealership. In addition, he worked as a project consultant and business development manager at various professional services consulting firms.
David enjoys helping clients find solutions to their issues and streamlining processes. His expertise in Microsoft Excel and passion for building and enhancing workbooks proves to be valuable to the clients he serves. David also enjoys offering practical business solutions to small business owners as he himself has been the owner of two successful businesses.
David graduated from Cleveland State University with a BBA in Accounting. David is also a CPA (inactive) in the state of Ohio.
David was born and raised in Lakewood, Ohio and now resides in Richfield with his wife Kathy and five children. He is active in his church and is a die-hard Browns' fan for reasons still unknown!
