QuickBooks Online has a number of helpful keyboard shortcuts. Press CTRL + ALT + ? to display the list.
Note: when talking to QuickBooks customer support and they ask you for your Company ID, you will see it at the top of the Keyboard Shortcuts list.
Customer Retainers & Deposits
Do you need to track retainers and deposits from customers? There are two steps to set this up, and then you can record the deposit using the Customer Deposit service item. Later after the services are complete, you can add the deposit/retainer item and enter the amount as a negative.
