You’ve likely heard rumblings that Intuit has made the decision to discontinue new sales of some QuickBooks Desktop Products – but what does that mean for you?

Starting July 31, 2024, Intuit will no longer sell new subscriptions of the following products:

·        QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus

·        QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus

·        QuickBooks Desktop Mac Plus

·        QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll

Existing QuickBooks Desktop Plus and Desktop Payroll subscribers can continue to renew their subscriptions after July 31, 2024, however, Intuit is strongly encouraging users to consider moving to QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise or QuickBooks Online.

Starting May 31, 2024, Intuit will be discontinuing the following products:

·        QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021

·        QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2021

·        QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 2021

·        QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2021

·        QuickBooks Enterprise Accountant 2021

·        QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021

Existing QuickBooks Desktop clients will need to update their software to more current year, such as 2023 or 2024, to ensure they will be able to have access to Intuit technical support and add-on features such as payroll, payments, and bank feeds.

Starting October 3, 2024, Intuit will be discontinuing the following products:

·        QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale 19.0

QuickBooks is fully sunsetting their Point of Sale products. This means that all features of the software, such as Payments, Gift Cards, and GoPayment will no longer be supported by Intuit. The good news is that Intuit has partnered with Shopify! If you are currently using QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale 19 and haven’t looked into your new Point of Sale solution yet, you can view Shopify here: Shopify

Change can be scary – but don’t worry – DMS Management Solutions has your back! We are reviewing our client list and the QuickBooks Desktop versions that our clients are currently using, and proactively contacting any that are affected by the above changes. Please reach out to us if you have questions or concerns!
